I live in coastal Northern California and have given up on the locals ever letting go of their fear, and their masks. The local chamber music festival is for vaxxed (or tested) only. Sorry, I will not comply. When I see people wearing masks outside or inside, I feel disdain. If they will do something that stupid out of fear, what else will they do? These are dark and dangerous times.
I don’t think they will— they have pretty much taken over. Unfortunately we aren’t able to leave so we do the best we can, creating community with like minded friends.
I've been surprised each time you've written about your time in Eastern Europe that people are living so normally. I've not gotten that impression about Western Europe - Germany and the UK. Here in the Midwest, there are maskidiots, but they are the oddballs. The majority of people are like those in Eastern Europe. Having written that, I agree that fear is addiction for many people even if it doesn't come out in wearing face diapers. Medical offices are the absolute worst though. I don't think they'll ever give it up.

That is true in much of Western Europe. That part of the world is over. Central and Eastern Europe will save the West, if there is a saving of it to be had. The fear addiction did not spread equally throughout the US, but it did spread everywhere, and no place was spared. Columbus, Ohio, for example, is full of hotels with no functioning restaurants or bars due to fear and staff layoffs. Naples, Florida now closes at 10:00 PM on weekends for the same reason, and one half of the clinic and hospital networks there refuse to treat patients who have not poisoned themselves with multiple mRNA injections. This is a nationwide problem--not just a scourge of the coastal urban elites.
I’m not a parent and I’m pissed as hell! My bf and I both lost our careers…we’re adults. These precious angels need someone to stand up for them! What kind of monster parent allows this?
